KASSIDY
Teeming with the blood, sweat, and tears of an often unbelievable journey, Kassidy’s music is the sound of scars healing. He doesn’t shy away from facing pain head-on with powerhouse vocal performances, yet he also cuts loose during funky and soulful moments of pure happiness. The loss and love he’s felt, the ups and downs he’s endured, and the experience and wisdom he’s gained surge through his open-hearted pop.
Hailing from Gatineau, Québec, he identified music as an early form of expression. His mother juggled various jobs and did whatever she could to provide. School drama class offered an early outlet as he honed his voice in multiple plays. In the meantime, he absorbed inspiration from a wide swath of artists, spanning Justin Bieber, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, and Gavin DeGraw. He weathered bullying in high school until leaving during the tenth grade. Between doing construction, fast food gigs, and a seven-year stint as a chef, he immersed himself in his craft, engaging in vocal lessons and writing and recording as much as possible. In the midst of “figuring it out,” he battled drug addiction for two years, culminating in an overdose and subsequent new beginning. He shared tunes online over the years and generated buzz, streams, and views.
In 2023, he hustled harder than ever, “messaging a thousand people in a week on social media to collaborate.” GRAMMY® Award-nominated and Juno Award-winning multiplatinum producer duo Banx & Ranx— Soké and KNY Factory—responded, and everything changed. Blown away by his talent, Soké and KNY Factory invited Kassidy to a music camp and signed him. Now, the Canadian singer and songwriter holds nothing back on his first releases for Universal Music Canada and more to come.
